OpenAI has appointed Dali Rajic as its new global chief revenue officer, a role that will be key to taking the company into its next commercial stage. The executive will lead the organization responsible for expanding relationships with businesses and users around the world.
The decision comes as artificial intelligence moves beyond the experimental phase and begins to integrate into more and more areas of work. What does OpenAI need to turn that interest into sustainable adoption? A commercial operation capable of supporting organizations of every size.
Dali Rajic will lead OpenAI’s commercial expansion
Rajic joins OpenAI with experience building global revenue organizations based on metrics, operational discipline, and close attention to customers. His background includes serving as president and chief operating officer of Wiz, the cybersecurity company recently acquired by Google.
Before Wiz, he was also president and chief operating officer of Zscaler, as well as chief customer and revenue officer at AppDynamics. In those roles, he worked with large companies and technical customers—two groups that are essential to the growth of AI solutions.
OpenAI explained that Rajic will be responsible for building the commercial operating system needed to scale during the company’s next stage. The goal is not simply to sell more, but to turn current lessons into repeatable processes so that more organizations can achieve concrete results with AI.
The next generation of models could change not only how work gets done, but also how companies are created and managed.
Denise Dresser leaves OpenAI after consolidating its enterprise business
Dali Rajic will replace Denise Dresser, who will leave OpenAI to explore new opportunities after a transition period. During that time, she will continue working with the commercial team to support customers and facilitate the leadership change.
OpenAI credits Dresser with playing an important role in building its commercial team, strengthening relationships with major customers, and laying the foundations of its enterprise business. Her tenure took place during a decisive period, when the corporate AI market was still taking shape.
The company also announced a strategic partnership with Chad Peets and RPT Partners. This collaboration aims to accelerate the development of a global sales and market development team, known in the industry as go-to-market.
A company with more than one billion weekly users
OpenAI says its products now reach more than one billion active users each week and more than two million businesses. According to the company, both figures have doubled compared with a year ago.
That growth shows the size of the opportunity, but it also creates a challenge: serving a much larger user base without losing quality, trust, or responsiveness. For an AI company, scaling does not simply mean increasing the capacity of its models. It also means improving pricing, support, security, implementation, and outcomes for every type of customer.
Rajic described the current moment as the beginning of an economy powered by computing capacity, with AI integrated into virtually every workflow. His responsibility will be to help turn that vision into useful products and measurable benefits for organizations.
The appointment confirms that OpenAI is strengthening its commercial structure while expanding its models and services. AI is no longer presented only as a technological promise: competition now also depends on who can implement it better, at greater scale, and with a clearer impact on people and businesses.
