Gemini Spark expands its capabilities with direct Chrome integration. Google’s tool can now help you handle more complex web tasks, such as researching flights or coordinating apartment visits, using your signed-in accounts and saved passwords with your authorization.
Chrome auto browse arrives in Gemini Spark
The new feature allows Spark to browse websites through Chrome and take care of repetitive errands. For example, it could review apartments you saved and start coordinating visits, or compare flight options and begin the booking process.
What’s the difference compared with a traditional search? Spark doesn’t just show you links. It can also move through several steps within a page, as long as you’ve given it permission to do so.
Google says the feature includes safeguards to protect users from threats such as prompt injection, a technique that attempts to manipulate an AI through hidden instructions inside a web page.
You remain in control
Although Spark can move a task forward, it doesn’t make sensitive decisions entirely on its own. When it reaches important actions, such as making a payment, the task returns to you so you can review and confirm it.
That detail is essential. Automating a booking can save time, but handing over complete control of payments or personal information would create an unnecessary risk. The idea is for AI to handle the heavy lifting while you approve the steps that truly matter.
The feature will initially begin rolling out in the United States. Google plans to bring it to other regions in the future, although it has not yet specified a timeline for that expansion.
Gemini Spark reaches more countries
In addition to the Chrome integration, Google announced that Gemini Spark will be available to Google AI Pro subscribers in more than 160 additional countries starting July 30, 2026.
This considerably expands access to a tool designed to automate everyday tasks. From organizing information to completing processes on the web, Spark aims to become a kind of digital assistant capable of carrying out several steps for you.
Of course, its usefulness will depend on the permissions you’re willing to grant and the websites compatible with its features. The convenience is appealing, but it’s always worth checking which accounts, credentials, and actions you’re authorizing.
The integration between Gemini Spark and Chrome shows where consumer AI is heading: fewer isolated answers and more direct participation in the tasks we carry out every day. The challenge will be finding the right balance between automation, privacy, and human control.
