In a world of infinite scroll and digital noise, Google Labs introduces Dreambeans, an experiment designed to break that routine. What if, instead of losing hours scrolling, you got a small daily collection of personal stories that actually inspire you?
What is Dreambeans
Dreambeans uses the latest Google AI capabilities, like Personal Intelligence and Nano Banana 2, to create personalized daily stories. It's not an endless feed: it's a finite collection of tales and suggestions meant to help you focus on what matters.
It works with your permission and links information from your Google apps, like Gmail, Calendar, Photos, YouTube and your Search history. Result? Recommendations that can be useful right when you need them.
How it works in your day-to-day
- With at least one connected app, Dreambeans generates stories tailored to your events, purchases, photos and searches.
- Each story includes a unique illustration that reflects the people and places you frequent.
- If a story interests you, you can dive deeper: it takes you to web resources, nearby places or practical suggestions.
- Save your favorites in a personal library to return to whenever you want.
Here's a concrete example: you get a confirmation email that your puppy's treats have arrived. Dreambeans might show you training tips, remind you of a Calendar event about a friend's visit, and recommend pet-friendly restaurants nearby. All in a single story, with an image and links to take action.
Customize and correct what doesn't fit
Didn't like a recommendation? You can give feedback so future collections get better. If Dreambeans missed a new interest — say you started gardening — you mark it and it will show up in future stories. In other words: you fine-tune the curation.
Privacy and control
Your choices in Dreambeans do not affect
Personal Intelligencesettings in other products like Gemini Apps or AI Mode.
You decide which apps to connect. Dreambeans requires at least one linked app to work and performs best with all of them active, but the selection and control of data are in your hands.
Availability and how to try it
Dreambeans begins rolling out today to eligible Google AI Ultra subscribers (18+) in the United States, on Android and iOS. If you aren't eligible yet, you can join the waitlist with a personal Google account.
Dreambeans feels like an attempt to bring meaning back to the time we spend with screens: less scrolling, more useful connections. Can you imagine receiving each morning small stories that nudge you to do something valuable instead of getting lost in the noise?
