If you're unfamiliar with technological innovations, hearing the terms «ChatGPT» and «Artificial Intelligence» might make you think it's something difficult to understand and that you need to know programming. Let me tell you, you're mistaken. Just as you talk to your family on WhatsApp, you can talk to Artificial Intelligence, 100% in your language and with no written rules.
ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence you can converse with as if it were an extremely intelligent person through a simple chat. It's very easy to use in 3 simple steps:
- Go to chatgpt.com or download the app Android / iOS
- Sign up using your Google or Apple account (optional)
- Start a conversation and have fun asking questions.
You can ask anything. If you need suggestions:
recommend movies similar to The Matrix
. If you need support:
help me improve the text for an Instagram post
. Or if you want to understand
a Venezuelan friend: What does “Echarle pichón” mean?
, example:
ChatGPT is good at answering simple questions, but sometimes it won't answer as you wish. It might be too superficial, use very technical terms, or fail to understand you. A precise instruction (prompt) can give you an excellent result, but believe me, most of the time it won't be necessary.
Just by learning these tricks, you can make the most of ChatGPT, without needing specialized prompts, in an easy and simple way:
Ask it to ask you questions before answering
Sometimes you need help, but you're not clear on what you really want. This can be a bit frustrating and can cause the conversation with ChatGPT to become very long and lead nowhere concrete.
A trick I like to use is to ask ChatGPT to ask me certain questions before giving me an answer, for example:
Mother's Day is approaching, I want to buy something for my mom, ask me 3 questions and then answer me.
Ask it to explain like you're 5 years old
Sometimes you need to help your children with their homework and you want to understand the topic better to be able to teach them. You just need to tell the Artificial Intelligence to answer you as a 5-year-old child would, and that's it, look:
Why does so much lightning strike in Maracaibo? Explain it like a 5‑year‑old.
Talk, complain, correct, argue, until you get it right
Although you'll be conversing with an artificial intelligence, it's not an AI like in science‑fiction movies. ChatGPT doesn't have feelings so don't be afraid to be a bit firm. Believe it or not, you're teaching it to be better.
When it gives you a simple answer, tell it Can you give me more details?
. If
you see that it's too complex, you can say Can you make it simpler?
. If you
didn't like the answer Can you help me with another answer?
or if you want
more precision Think more and then answer me
.
Edit your question and get another answer
One of the tricks I often use to keep a cleaner conversation is to edit my previous question. If I see that ChatGPT didn't answer me as I wanted, I prefer to edit my question and send it again rather than telling it to give me another option. Personally, I find many advantages in doing this:
- The conversation doesn't end up with multiple answers; ChatGPT is more prone to errors when the conversation is long.
- It allows me to learn how I should interact with ChatGPT to receive better answers.
- The chat doesn't become so large, and I can maintain a deep conversation without the AI becoming incoherent.
Have fun using ChatGPT, be creative.
Artificial Intelligence today is super‑intelligent, but it's not yet conscious. Just as it can turn a photo into a Studio Ghibli‑style image, it can do everything your imagination comes up with just by writing a message or sending a voice note.
Don't be afraid to be creative and experiment; AI is a tool at your service, ready to help you with anything you need. It can help you with topics related to psychology, it can give you some medical advice although it does not replace a professional, and if you wish, it can:
Create a short story about an elephant that wanted to climb a ladder to reach the sun.
I hope these tricks are very useful to you and that you can have fun using Artificial Intelligence. There is still much to learn; Artificial Intelligences and ChatGPT are constantly evolving. Every so often they become smarter and more specialized in specific tasks; when this happens, a new model is born. Getting to know them is a priority, and I invite you to try them. Subscribe, as I will soon be sharing examples of models and other artificial intelligences.
